Sungho Chun

Partner

Sungho Chun is Partner, Korea with lO + SEKA. He has over 20 years of professional experience and has led a number of prominent commercial, hospitality, and residential projects. A selection of these include the 29,000 sqm, 528 unit Hyundai Asan Offistel project, the new 85,057 sqm mixed use guesthouse project for Samsung Electronics in Bundang, and Samsung Seocho suite garden apartment located in downtown Gangnam district in Seoul. Most recently, he completed the design of Seocho Mujigae Residential Development in Seoul in association with lO DESIGN.

Sungho is currently also in charge of the architectural design unit at Kyungki University and Seoul national Polytechnic University.

Ted Givens

Design Partner

Ted Givens is Design Partner with lO + SEKA. With more than 20 years of experience, he has worked on projects around the world ranging in scale from beach houses in LA to 5 sq. km resort towns in the Middle East and from single structure cultural buildings to large scale mixed use developments in Asia. Ted’s work has won over 20 international awards, the most recently being the Hong Kong AIA Merit award for the Dalian Public Library in China and HKIA Merit award for The Fujian Professional Photonic Technical College in Xiamen, China.

Together with SEKA Architects, Ted has recently led the design for Seocho Mujigae Residential Development and Dongbu District Courthouse, both in Seoul, Korea.

Currently, his iconic mixed use development in Kuala Lumper, The KL Gateway, and the award winning Fujian Professional Photonic Technical College in Xiamen are under construction and scheduled for completion in 2016.

Gordon Affleck

Design Partner

Gordon Affleck is Design Partner with lO + SEKA. He is an award winning architect with over 23 years of professional experience leading international design teams in the Middle East, Asia, and the UK.

His award winning work ranges from the design of large scale waterfront master planning, complex mixed use projects, civic and retail environments, through to boutique luxury residential and hospitality developments, and bridges.

His built work include one of the largest developments for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the National Convention Centre & Mixed Use Development, the sustainable Huawei R&D Headquarter in Nanjing, China, and the Shizimen International Convention Complex including a 320m high iconic tower in Zhuhai, China.

Gordon’s Cityscape 2014 Residential Award winning Ashjar at Al Barari is currently under construction and presently he is  directing one of the most prestigious mixed use destinations in Dubai, Marsa Al Seef, scheduled for opening in 2017.

Nick Cordingley

Design Partner

NICK CORDINGLEY is Design Partner with lO + SEKA. He has over 17 years of international experience and has led the design and delivery of large scale complex projects across a diverse array of sectors throughout
the Middle East, Asia, and the Middle East.

Nick has directed the design for a number of large scale mixed use schemes including hotel, office, retail, and residential typologies. These include the 12ha Citywalk Phase 4, Dubai, UAE, which is one of the most high profile mixed use developments comprising retail, hotel, and residential in the region, the 225,000 sqm high-end marina front Bluewaters Residential Development, and the 5 star 350 room Le Meridien in the Middle East.

David Pringle

Managing Partner

David Pringle is Managing Partner with lO + SEKA and he has worked in the UK, Asia, and the Middle East for over twenty years. His interests and expertise lie in the evolving planning, strategy, and vision of the practice and he has established a reputation and a brand name within the industry.

The practice often competes successfully with other ‘named’ architects in invited international design competitions and is often invited as jurors.

David has overall responsibility for projects in all offices, ensuring successful performance and technical delivery, and directs the marketing and branding of the practice.

Ross Milne

Managing Partner

ROSS MILNE is Managing Partner with lO + SEKA and has a diverse international portfolio spanning over 25 years including management and delivery of projects in Asia and the Middle East.

Ross Milne has a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver a quality project and strides to encourage innovative solutions to challenges posed by tight programmes and budgetary constraints using the latest available construction technology.

Working closely with Design Partners, Ross has a hands-on design management and delivery approach and has overall responsibility for all project matters.

Barry Shapiro

Partner

Barry Shapiro is Partner with lO + SEKA. He has over 25 years of experience and has been involved with the design and construction of major mixed-use developments, master planning, retail spaces, commercial headquarters, residential complexes, and civic projects in China, the United States, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Barry has more than a decade of experience living and working in Asia.

Barry recently celebrated the construction completion for a 400,000 sqm Bay Valley Science and Technology Park in Shanghai and Greatwall Complex Mixed Use Development (Phase 1) (LEED Pre-Certified) in Wuhan, China.

Currently, Barry is managing a number of hospitality projects including a health focused luxury residential complex, The Wellness in Dubai, Abu Sidra Residential Community in Doha, Qatar, and Dubai Golf City in the UAE.

Michael Grimshaw

Director

MICHAEL GRIMSHAW is Director with lO + SEKA. He has over 25 years of international experience and has been involved with the design and construction of major projects in Europe, the Middle East, China, and Southeast Asia.

Michael has in-depth knowledge of large scale mixed-use developments and master planning projects with a wide range of building typologies and strong experience in delivering projects through all stages of the development process from inception to completion, from interiors to master planning, and from concept design to project administration.

Michael has an extensive built portfolio including Taikoo Hui, a mixed use development by Swire Properties and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, both in Guangzhou, China, and The City of Dreams, a major development by Melco in Macao, China consisting a casino, Grand Hyatt, Crowne Tower, and Hard Rock Hotel, and a 2,000 seat House of Dancing Water theatre.
